Richard Plantagenet is best known as "Richard the Lionheart", but he is also know as the "absent king". Even though he ruled for ten years, King Richard only spent six months in England. But his time away from his kingdom was well spent. He fought many battles in the Crusades of which he won most of. His bravery earned him his naickname "the Lionheart".
When Richard was only fourteen years old, he was named the duke Aquintane. As a result, he learned how to rule a region at a very young age.--Levi
